Learning to ride is fun!!! Our lessons can be custom tailored to you and what you want to learn to improve your skill level and understanding of horses. Riding lessons teach our riders to be pilots, not passengers. While we offer both English and Western lessons, all riders are taught balance and control with the horse. We have both adult and youth riders, total beginners and experienced riders going to the next level.
If you have never ridden before we recommend 6-10 lessons. While it is not hard to learn to ride, riding skills take time to develop and a series of weekly lessons usually work the best. Weekly lessons for youth riders under the age of 16 MAY be eligible for the Child Fitness Tax Credit.
Perhaps you are afraid of horses or are more interested in human/horse relationships from the ground. Round penning (aka, The Horse Whisperer) is a fantastic way to learn how body language “talks” to horses. Not only does it help with “talking” to horses, it increases awareness of how body language influences co-workers, family members and other relationships in our lives. We offer individual and group lessons in the round pen and usually 1-2 lessons is enough to improve understanding of body language.
Individual Lessons:
Private or semi-private for non boarders: $55
Private or semi-private for boarders: $45
1/2 hour lesson: $30
Note: These lessons are scheduled individually around the monthly lesson package.
Payment is due at the time of the lesson.
Lesson Packages:
Monthly lesson package (4 – 6 per month) $200 – $300
Package of 10 lessons $450
Lesson packages offer a discount and have set lesson times.
Note: Full payment is due at the first lesson of the month. Missed lessons can be made up.
